lease submit up to 20 pages (when double-spaced, as a Word document) of fiction or nonfiction. Manuscripts should be unpublished works, and should be pasted into an e-mail form and sent with your application form by e-mail. The manuscript does not need to appear double-spaced within the email form. This submission will be used only for evaluation purposes by the conference organizers.
If the piece you’re submitting is excerpted from a longer work, please make sure the excerpt is self-contained. For fiction submissions, please do not send genre fiction or children's/young adult literature. For nonfiction submissions, we are looking for articles of magazine length and style, memoir, and creative nonfiction, as well as investigative and political reporting and essays. We will be discussing blogs at the conference, but blog-writing samples are not appropriate for the submission process.
